During his visit to Addis Ababa, on February 11, 2021, Dr. Mahamat Adoum Koulbou, the Deputy Director General of the Africa-Arab Cultural Institute met Dr. Amira Al-Fadhel, Commissioner for Social Affairs of the African Union Commission. During this meeting, they reviewed the recent process and discussed all issues pertaining to the institute and ways to expand the scope of its activities and to establish partnerships with institutions with similar objectives within the AU organizations. They leveraged this occasion, to review all obstacles and difficulties facing the institute. On behalf of the Director General and the staff of the Institute, the Deputy Director General thanked the Commissioner for Social Affairs for their constant efforts to support the Institute, its activities and programs.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Amira Al-Fadhel provided some advice and directions aimed to activate and develop the Institute’s activities in enhancing culture and preserving the common Africa-Arab heritage. She also praised the efforts made by the Institute in this context and emphasized its role in strengthening Africa-Arab relations, and invited the Institute to participate in the implementation of programs and projects detailed in the roadmap of the 34th session of the Executive Council of the African Union, held in Addis Ababa on 6 and 7 February 2021, which made its slogan for this year “arts, culture and heritage”.
