The Commissioner for Health, Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development of the African Union Commissioner, Dr Amira ElFadil, received in a meeting, the Ambassador Dr Mohamed Salem Soufi, Director General of the Africa-Arab Cultural Institute, on Monday July 5, 2021. Ms. Angela Martins, Head of Culture Department of the African Union Commission and Ambassador ElHafiz Eisa Abdallah, Special Assistant to the Commissioner also took part in this meeting.
The meeting focused on the roadmap of the African Union for this year and the activities that will be organised by the Institute, as well as the Institute’s participation in the activities that will be organised by the African Union within the framework of the celebration of its theme for this year: “Arts, Culture and Heritage: levers to build the Africa we want”, including the launch of the African Languages Week to be held in Dakar at the end of this month, the workshop for the restitution of stolen works of art and the virtual conference of African Ministers in charge of arts, culture and heritage, scheduled for next October. For his part, the Director General of the Africa-Arab Cultural Institute invited the African Union to participate in its activities scheduled for the coming months.
