The Director-General of the Africa-Arab Cultural Institute, Dr. Mohamed Salem Soufi attended the opening ceremony of a training course on safeguarding and cataloguing of manuscripts and documents. The training was organized by the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) in cooperation with the Ahmed Baba Institute for Graduate Studies and Islamic Research on Tuesday, 05 March 2019 in Bamako, in coordination with the Sinnar Regional Center for Dialogue and Cultural Diversity.
At the opening ceremony, a statement was made by each one of Mrs. Assétou Konaté, representative the Minister of Innovation and Scientific Research, Mrs. Kadidia Maiga, Secretary General of the Malian National Committee for UNESCO, Dr. Mohamed Ali Diakayite, Director General of the Ahmed Baba Institute for Graduate Studies and Islamic Research and Dr. Mustafa Ahmed Ali, Director of the Sinnar Regional Center for Dialogue and Cultural Diversity – ISESCO Representative.
At the end of the opening ceremony, Dr. Mustafa Ahmed Ali offered to the Director General of Ahmed Baba Institute, a number of computer equipment to reinforce the capacity of the Institute’s staff in the fields of safeguarding, archiving, cataloguing and scanning.
The opening ceremony was attended by a number of representatives of international organizations and media.
This training course is part of the activities of ISESCO on the occasion its announcement of 2019 as the Year of Heritage in the Islamic World.
